In December of 2011, Imaginary Image began documenting the Watermark project, a landmark waterfront condominuim project located
 in Sechelt, British Columbia.

The size and scope of this endevour will change the downtown core of this seaside town forever.  This project I believe foreshadows the future for this once rural peninsula, just two hours from Vancouver.

Under Construction
Watermark at Sechelt
Dec 14, 2011
The Watermark project is located on Teredo Street, a waterfront drive and the main north south route through the town.  Sechelt is at the centre of the Lower Sunshine Coast, a commercial business hub, home of St. Mary's Hospital, and the halfway point between to ferrie routes.

By the second week of the new year, ground preparation is well underway, infrastructure is the word of the day, with sewers and water connections to the town of Sechelt.
Sechelt's waterfront walkway is giving the public a great view of the construction site.

The first rebar is installed, pictured above is the base of the elevator
shaft for Phase 1 of the Watermark development.

Locally sourced sand and gravel stand in neat piles, as concrete forms are built.  The echo of nailguns and saws can be heard as this project with a base just below sea level takes shape.

As with any project of this nature there are the negative points,
such as noise and traffic problems.  However in a short time
Teredo Street will be back to normal, and the positive aspects of this first step towards a new look for the town of Sechelt will come to light.
Viewed from the Wharf Street public pier and dock, the sales centre for the Watermark can be seen, and to the left is where the project will start to rise in the next few months, becoming a beacon on the waterfront of Sechelt B.C.

Another week begins at the Watermark site, materials
of every description are being stockpiled, and it is becoming
quite the beehive of activity.
