Images posted here are from a two week journey around Ireland in September of 2006.  From Dublin to Galway, the Aran Islands, and Killarney.

"a fortnight of pleasures for all the senses"
Our travels begin with a four night stay in Harold's Cross, a Dublin neighborhood just 25 minutes walk from the bustling city center.  The sturdy stained glass door, the entrance to this 102 year old home and B and B with rooms for 12 guests.
This area is home to the 52 acre Mount Jerome Cemetary, where we found the old family plot and made arrangements for some restoration work.
Mount Jerome is one of the most impressive of Dublin's cemeteries. Mentioned in James Joyce's Ulysses, Mount Jerome was the burial ground for many of Dublin's Protestant business men and their families. Unlike most Irish cemeteries, Mount Jerome boasts a large number of highly ornate crypts and memorials. These range from simple urns on columns, to romantic broken columns and weeping angels to large imposing columned structures.
