If I remember correctly I started photographing at about the age of twelve.  In the last thirty years or so I have spent many hours looking through a viewfinder, for much of that time the images ended up on television.  My career in the broadcast industry lasted thirty five years,   during that time I would always return to the still camera where I found true inspiration.

A few photos from the early days still exist,  little super glossy black and white photos with crinkle cut edges.  The composition was there but the technical quality needed work.  From that little fuzzy viewfinder on my Kodak Hawkeye camera I learned to isolate objects and compose, bringing three dimensional depth to a two dimensional format.

Never one for taking family or people pictures, I found enjoyment in landscapes and rural scenes.  These subjects give me time to study the light and refine the composition.  And in the last few years visualize the subject even before putting the camera to my eye.
